One in four teenage girls in the United States is infected with a sexually transmitted infection.  Surprisingly, young people between the ages of 12 and 20 make up far less than half of the population of the United States , yet, each year they account for more than 50% of diagnosed cases of sexually transmitted disease in this country.  What is your role as a parent and how can you arm your teen with the knowledge to keep them safe?  This event presents the latest facts about STDs, how they affect young people, and the array of options available that protect against some of these prevalent STDs.  We will also provide you with the tools and information to start a conversation with your teen about their sexual choices and keeping them safe.  For more information about this program, or to register, please contact Planned Parenthood's Education Department by calling (203) 865-5158.
